Or, 99 miles might have been the straight line distance, and he took the scenic route. Or, he might have stopped off for a few games of squash or tennis, or a nice long sleep along the way.
Whatever he did - grab-ass job, walk, or whatever - it's still a great effort.
Could I travel 125 miles in 29 hours using nothing but my legs. Not a chance. Maybe, just maybe, when I was young and fit. Definitely not now.
