Most people do not run. They grab-ass jog, or jog, at best. Do at least a six minute mile, and you'll be running a bit.
Now, in much of the race, he may've been running, or close to running. But obviously in the succeeding journey he was grab-ass jogging, cos it took him twenty-five hours.
Four hours for twenty-six mile race; twenty-five hours for 99 miles.
Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
