Hmmm. Maybe related to the enforcer bug. Yeah, I know it wasn't emulation-related, because this only happened on my trusted old version of MAME. Yet since it was a rom error, I didn't know as deleting nvram files and such would do any good. The game would still play, just now and then geek.
Perhaps it was somehow related to another issue I was having the last week with my P360, where the movement of the Robotron dude would freeze if I were going up-left. Quite intermittently, but when it did it, it would stay that way until I pushed just left or up, though sometimes it would not reset the up-left motion, and sometimes not even those directions would register. What would always reset it was, either, pushing some direction to the right, or pushing left (or any direction) with my U360.
This stick behavior was the same in MAMEs .104 and .141u3. So I changed out the PCB inside the P360 - I wanted to see if maybe the mechanical parts were somehow the culprit - but after an almost million game, it never once behaved badly. So I guess the boards on the P360s *can* go bad after a while....
Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
