Yeah, isn't it awesome! Sadly my girls didn't make it through the winter. (My fault, first year noob making stupid mistakes.) Try opening a box with over 10,000 of them in it, turning it upside down and shaking them out. (While they're exploding in a buzzing cloud around your head.) With all of the stupid things I've done that was by far the biggest adrenaline rush. I did it for the first time wearing a bee mask and a short sleeved t-shirt. They're actually incredibly gentle as long as you're not messing with their home. They didn't start getting pissy until there were eggs and baby bees to defend.
I only got nailed a couple of times last year and that was on purpose. (If I had developed an allergy I wanted to find out with one bee and someone to drive me to the hospital, not after being stung to shit while alone in the back yard.)
