I can agree with that statement. Last year, I got a partial tear of my right soleus tendon due to a stumble caused when my foot caught the edge of the blanket I was carrying up the stairs. (The furnace in my house died, so I needed to keep myself wrapped up to stay warm).
The previous year, I had gone skiing and unbeknownst to me I had put some small tears in my calf muscle. This wasn't found until I did the physical therapy for the torn soleus. When massaging the incredibly sore calf, they discovered a great deal of scar tissue.
For the tendon tear, I was put on a LOT of opiate based pain relievers which did a great job of getting rid of the pain (there is honestly nothing else out there that comes close to the level of pain relief), but it also fucked with my head and mental capabilities quite a bit. Ironically, it was while performing some stretching and therapy at my home when I took a really bad step and ended up shattering 6 bones in my right foot. Ugggh. Back on the narcotics and lots of pain.
