the background is fixed, it doesn't move when scrolling the games list... and it is tiled, if you enabled this setting at preferences screen (enabled by default).
moving the background image along with the scrolling would be a nightmare and buggy as hell. I chose that background on purpose (3in1semi.png)
Nice flags. What size they will be ? Now the One Million Dollars question: those flags will be added in a 48x48 icon made by you, or you thought about Emu Loader overlaying them on top of the regular icons dynamically ?
here's how EL load icons when in tiles view mode... and the "Disable Icon Stretch" is checked):
1. load MAMu_ icon into a 32x32 icon container (no support for 16x16 or 48x48 sizes, unless you want this to be implemented!) 2. create a 48x48 bitmap 3. paint the entire bitmap's background with the icon's transparent color (to remove that ugly white frame) 4. paint the 32x32 icon centered into the 48x48 bitmap 5. show it in the games list
in all other view modes, the icons are loaded directly without any processing...
I could implement the above for "Large Icons" view mode as well (it shows 32x32 icons on screen). that would increase the CPU cycles to load the icons though.
in the mean time, I will do some testing here to see if I can crack this "add overlay icon into an existing bitmap already containing an icon" without breaking anything thingy...
