Yeah, the nights of heavy drinking are a thing of my past. This past Tuesday was really just a one-off thing.

Anyway, I've been a diabetic for 28 years. Basically had it my whole life. The kidney failure is just the eventual end result of having diabetes for so long. The extra sugar in the blood will just eventually damage the kidneys no matter how in control your blood sugars are. After 28 years, they just got damaged enough to where proteins, which should not normally be present in urine, are passing through due to damages done to the glomeri(sp?).

I don't mind talking about it. I mean, eventually we all go. If it gets really bad, then yeah, I'd be on a transplant list and if I do get to receive a kidney from a deceased donor, I would also get their pancreas and the diabetes would go away. I think adding on to the stresses from that news about the beginning of kidney destruction, coupled with the psychological issues caused by all the pain medication I was on last year due to the numerous broken bones I had, it's just been rough to handle. Thankfully, I do have some friends who are supporting me and are willing to listen to me whine. lol.
