I didn't really want a religious debate, but ok...

That's fine if you want to focus on a few negative things.

Why doesn't Christianity ever focus on them? The preacher on Sunday is always ready to tell you about the love, and good that God does, but omits the instances where God seems to fly off the handle. Being mauled to death for calling someone a "bald head" is justice?

Yikes.

The rules that applied to the people of Israel were so they could be perfect, an example to the rest of the world.

Isn't the Bible supposed to be THE word of God? Why would God have one set of rules for one people, then have to change the rules later? If God is all knowing and powerful his word shouldn't need change. Why was God cool with slavery, mistreatment of women, and a "dry run" for child murder then, but not now?

And on the topic of Abraham and Issac...it was supposed to be a "test of faith"? Sheesh, once again God has some serious issues. There was another who made his followers perform "tests of faith" (a.k.a. loyalty tests). Religious or not, most rational people would agree that it's a pretty sick joke to tell someone to kill their child, and then later say it was just a loyalty test.

What if people didn't even have the desire to do drugs? Then there wouldn't be ANY problem with drugs in the first place.

Explain cats and catnip, and koalas and eucalyptus for me please. I'm half joking but it's a pretty basic impulse for living creatures that if they partake of something that feels good, they generally will want to keep doing it. That doesn't apply to drugs only by the way.

If you're going to live your life based on the teachings of Jesus and the Bible then you can't pick and choose which parts are OK and which parts no longer apply. Even God says that you can't stray from his word otherwise you're not obedient. So you not only have to "love thy neighbor" (Mark 12:31) but you can sell your daughter into slavery (Exodus 21:7-11). You can't have "graven images" (2nd commandment) but have you ever been to the Vatican? Someone should really tell them to take down all their golden Jesus's and tapestries. Maybe they can melt down the gold and use it to help feed the millions of dedicated followers living in poverty and hunger.
