That's one way I guess. Another way is to just sneak up behind her when she's naked. Or you could just be fooling around, and then you hold her down and slip it in without giving prior warning. Or you can wait until she's asleeep. Anything that involves her being penetrated when she's not expecting it.
(If you do it all the time, it won't be surprising for long. You can only do it occasionally and vary the technique if you want to maintain the element of surprise.)
