Depends on what module do you think it's the most important. I don't think that a resident scanner is the most important part, but the file scanning process. And I want to activate it when I want, not all the time on every file I touch the slightest. So for me, that "most important module" is useless.
On another thread of thought, I think Avast! (the free edition) is up to the task nowadays, instead of Avira or AVG. And it has switchable permanent scanners for various things.
