There're a few things you can do to make living with Bittorrent easier other than change to an ISP that doesn't have the same restrictions:

- Time the downloading of the torrent so that half of the download falls in one billing period, with the remainder falling in another.

- Restrict upload speeds of the torrent to something low like 2Kbps. This will help to not hammer your transfer limits.

- Get the torrent in chunks of files rather than all at once. This typically doesn't work well with large single files (.ISOs specifically), but you can generally let those go to a certain percentage, stop the torrent, then resume it later when you've got the bandwidth for it.

I sympathise with your position because my ISP does basically the same thing if I go over my transfer cap in addition to charging per megabyte over the monthly limit, and these are basically the same hoops I've been jumping through to work around it. Frankly I'd just change my ISP, but out where I am there aren't a lot of options in that department and they're all worse in one major way or another than what I've got now.

Also, if possible, I would strongly recommend running a firmware on your router that keeps track of inbound and outbound Internet bandwidth usage. Makes it *much* easier to know how close you are to hitting the cutoff point and avoiding it.
