When you once worked for services to clients (waiter, cashier, technician, nursering, etc.) you know there's always that type of client who makes a scandal and whole drama for nothing. Thiefs tend to do that too as previous resource to just run away. Services and establishments have protocols after all.
Probably it was just the way she addressed to you, or maybe you were just stressed and with bad humor. However, next time consider you actually look less suspicious when you cooperate. After all you had nothing to hide, right?
