Okay, simply put, why not just put in a switch so that the nags can be turned off after the first time MAME - not a particular/for every game, but MAME - is run?
This satisfies both sides. A nag notice will be shown at least once so the person has an idea to look for one if a game isn't working. In addition, users won't have to see it ever again if they decide not to. This has the additional benefit of including the status nags. I understand why these are permanent until the game changes status, but for the user they're unsat. Again, a 'switch' would satisfy both sides.
Consider it high comedy....sincere tragedy....whatever...don't take it personally.
