I had no intention of building another cab... but here I am...
Ok, so, I want to build a cab to plug JAMMA PCB's into.
Am I correct to assume all I basically need is: Monitor, control panel, power supply and a [jamma harness]? The harness description refers to an "included standard monitor connector", which I ASSUME they mean arcade monitor... not a pc monitor. That being said... any simple adapter way to use a spare LCD tv?
This J-PAC confuses me... why would I need to hook a jamma pcb up to a pc? Basically a converter to use your pc's monitor and keyboard then? Not anything I would need for a dedicated cab, yeah?
I'm thinking I can just gut an old pc for the 5v power supply, and the rest of the pc would just be garbaje... no need to hook any part of it up to make a jamma cab... right?
Gads, I hate new learning curves. Maybe I'll just fixer-upper an existing jamma cab, and spare me the headaches.
edit: Hmmm... apparently my link to a jamma board harness sale site is prohibited. Is this particular site up to some shinanigans? Is there a better place to buy a harness?
