I've had the same problem - with some of those same centers. 4 things in 1 box (via UPS) from California. Arrived at the center about 10 miles from my home. Then went a few 100 miles away, then even farther away, and then back to the local place. But, it arrived on the date they had originally told me!! WTF is the deal with that?
I also had 2 things shipped from Asia (China(where from?) and Hong Kong sent US Postal. The first 1 I got the note that I had to come to local Post Office to pick it up. It was a 3"X6" 3oz box. OK. 2 days later in my mail box I find the other 1. An envelope twice as big and heavy as the box! What genius developed that system?
My uncle worked for them so I guess I should just be happy I got them at all from the stories he told us...
