pfeMAME version 2.22 has been released today
07/31/22 03:38 AM

Another big release for pfeMAME today (Windows only – Linux and MAC still a WIP I am afraid, but I will get there).

Notable changes;
A new command line option -novid will disable all video playback. This may be useful if you have any issues with the new Video playback features (See below).
If you have VLC video player installed on your system, pfeMAME will try to use that as the video playback back-end for both the main view and Tile views. This allows better compatibility with video files as the MediaCtrl has all sorts of compatibility issues.
Added a fullscreen video player as a screensaver. By default this will start after 10 minutes of keyboard inactivity. You can also invoke it from the main menu.
Right & Left gamepad bumpers will now scroll the ROMs list up / down a full page.
Gamepad D-Pad support now added for navigation.
Many bug fixes.

Check out the changelog file for a complete list of changes.

You can download this release from here.

Please read the manual as it has everything you need.

Please report bugs. You can email [email protected] or use the features on the sourceforge site to create a ticket, leave a review, or chat.

pfeMAME is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and MacOS). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. It supports favourite game flagging, MESS systems, per-rom input mapping, and a Tiled view for arcade cabinets. It was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that I wanted that other front ends just didn't provide.
