We have a large release for pfeMAME today (Unfortunately only the Windows & Linux releases as I need some more time with the MacOS one – give me a week or so). We have a lot of new features (Thanks to some requests) as well as the usual collection of bug fixes and under-the-hood changes.
When you first run the new release it will force a database rebuild as there have been new columns added for year etc. Also, the full build process now takes a bit longer as I am using the full -listxml command from MAME in order to get year, manufacturer etc for the roms. Nothing I can do about the slight pause as everything is in MAME’s control during that period.
Check out the changelog file for a complete list of changes.
You can download this release from here.
Please read the manual as it has everything you need.
Please report bugs. You can email [email protected] or use the features on the sourceforge site to create a ticket, leave a review, or chat.
pfeMAME is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux (Ubuntu), Windows, and MacOS). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. It supports favourite game flagging, MESS systems, per-rom input mapping, and a Tiled view for arcade cabinets. It was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that I wanted that other front ends just didn't provide.
