I didn’t look for the thread when typing first reply. I would have posted the link had I noticed it earlier.

Although it was determined to likely be related to highscore.dat file, hopefully further testing will include deleting any of the old config files first in case same folders are reused when updating MAME.
It might still be old config files still hiding in the config folder causing problems, but maybe any old remaining highscore.dat files causing problems. All those files should be cleaned out and the game tested again without any of those old files present.
Other games from the asuka.cpp file should also be tested. Probably more games in asuka.cpp affected.
