You just connected the J1 together. Now you can't play Defender fully because there no extra buttons. You can just get two wires that can connect together so that you can switch it to Defender. Unhook it will switch back to Joust. Have the connector hanging out of the back of the case. Even a switch will do.

Actually Stargate mix with Defender.
