Any way to get a fully populated default.cfg?

Hi. Looking for a way (command line instruction?) to get a full default.cfg from Mame. As it stands, if controls ("ports") are at the default setting, they are not in default.cfg. They're only written into this file if the control is set to a non-default setting. I want the full list of controls in that file, even if they're set to default.

I need it for some software I'm writing. have looked around a bit, couldn't find anything
