Oh yeah it is way different. 'back in the day' one of the most feared words for an application cell phone dev was 'recertification'. You did not want to end up there. It could take weeks to get a new version out there. The cell companies really relaxed their standards. Mostly now it is 'roll it and if it breaks roll another' CI/CD is supposed to catch it but ... meh. Sometimes they do % sampling like only put it on x% of the fleet and then wait and see. But not all companies are like that. There are even some companies out there that have the idea that QA should not exist and 'the developers should take care of it'. So yeah it is different.
For mine I think I set it to auto update and do not notify me.
