EXTREMELY long time lurker here, and finally got around to registering. If you look closely at the manual (image located here (https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/M/marvel-super-heroes.pdf) you can see by the pinout that pin R on JAMMA is for service (Free Credit). I have not checked the actual MAME code so I do not know if this connection has been fully registered, but I'm wondering if this may be a clue.
