That one is in impressive condition.

>Is there anything desired artwork wise before I let it go?

Hopefully hap or someone else can give specifics of what is exactly needed.

Going with what is currently supported in source code....

--
src/mame/drivers/hh_tms1k.cpp

CONS( 1981, mbdtower, 0, 0, mbdtower, mbdtower, mbdtower_state, empty_init, "Milton Bradley", "Dark Tower (Milton Bradley)", MACHINE_SUPPORTS_SAVE | MACHINE_CLICKABLE_ARTWORK | MACHINE_MECHANICAL ) // ***

// ***: As far as MAME is concerned, the game is emulated fine. But for it to be playable, it requires interaction
// with other, unemulatable, things eg. game board/pieces, playing cards, pen & paper, etc.

....the layout file is what will show what there is.

Maybe scans of all paper/card pieces and game board piece?

hap recently did add support for chessboard images that were used with older versions of MESS chessboard images and in next future MAME release, it will be like using one of the older versions of MESS once again, but it will be in MAME, not old version of MESS.

Something could be done for improved artwork support for Dark Tower gameplay, but hap is the person you will want to talk to and see what is exactly needed.
