That sounds very nice. But as someone further along in life let me recommend you look before you leap.
Get yourself setup and going before you start donating large sums of money. What you are talking about in some cities in the US is a full months rent once per year (where I live it would cover 2). Depending on some peoples view it would be a car payment per month. You may not be able to swing that. You have no idea what your job will be or pay. You may have some ideas. But life does not always work that way.
Just floating this out there but you may have been conditioned to think 'a small payment per month' is not a bad thing. Always take whatever 'small payment' and multiply it by 12. That is what you would be paying per year. For example humble bundle has a 12 dollar a month plan (hey thats cheap you think). Until you realize it is 144 per year or 1440 over 10. Is that item still worth the rent you are paying on it? It is a psychological trick that works very well on almost everyone.
I know you are excited. We all get that way sometimes. But sit back think it through and do a bit of math and see if you still want it.
Start small. Trust me. I have 1000 bucks worth of astronomy equipment. Because I got excited and payed for it. Never use it... Thousands of dollars of phones, computers, consoles, games, etc. Rarely used. Start small see if you like it. If so work up to more. Another bit of advice. Promise small and over deliver. People are mad when you over promise and under deliver but they are wildly happy the other way around. Pretty much every time. You have probably over promised.
