yeah, they can be reset in one of the service menus, can't remember which one, but it is possible.
the games have a lot of user / operator data in them (in some cases needed for them to run) but thing like the scores, stats, replays etc. can be cleared.
usually somebody would reset the games to as close to defaults before they got added, but that didn't happen here, and wiping them doesn't actually remove them from the HDD image anyway, just wipes the references to the data.
Midway Skins game is worse, the drive image that's floating about is full of pictures of players taken with the camera it had back in the day.
