GOLDEN TEE COMPLETE: Can I “reset” the high scores?

I’m sure this should be obvious, but it isn’t to a novice like me.

I run MAME through Launchbox- primarily for GT Complete.

Is there a way where I can wipe the scores and just have it save from that point forward?

I thought no, but it’s weird as it seems to be saving mine and my buddies scores along the way, but of course we’ll never beat the absurd scores that are “baked in” to the game version I have. By “version” I mean the MAME image/game I have is just SOME real arcade version, somewhere, hat was copied, correct?

Sorry I’m just not savvy with all of this.
