Not much happens in 5 revisions, my oldest machine runs a MAME version that is over 10 years old. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". I'm new here, but I have been involved with MAME , mostly hardware, like MK64 keyboard encoder over on arcade controls forum site 'on and off' over more than 15 years.
Yes, it it a setting issue. A fresh install for MAME32 flashes on WIN10 and XP machine. I'll try to compare the two installs this week to see if I can identify the difference. I'll report if I find it. Although I may be satisfied that it works now and move on.
