I was able to add an exception using v63 of firefox.
Got the 'your connection is not secure'. 'go back', 'advanced' clicked 'advanced', clicked 'add exception...', dialog popup. I usually uncheck permanently store, then push the button 'confirm security exception'.
I never do perm as the cert is wrong and needs to be corrected by the site owner. As you are saying you always will trust that domain. That domain in a few years could be owned by someone else. They could look into 'lets encrypt' and a rotating auto renew script on a cron job or AT job.
In this case it just looks like a cert expire.
If you are not getting the popup you may have a proxy in the middle of your connection? Either through your job or your ISP or your VPN? Sometimes companies will do a MITM proxy and give you a cert for their proxy. Then you are using their cert up to the proxy and the proxy gets the error you may not see it though.
