Yep, pretty much my experience too.

It is definately impressive. It can even run the 3 screen games properly. I suspect its more than just because of offloading hardware rendering though, all the emulation is actually HLE.
I know MAME is all about technical authenticity, but isn't the actual experience (i.e. the game having close to actual arcade graphics) also a part of being authentic?
I mean Demul's graphics still look far more like the actual arcade machine's than MAME's software rendered output does. MAME seems to often render 3D hardware-emulated games way too pixelated and jaggy/unfiltered. Not just Sega or Naomi, there appears to be something generally missing/unemulated somehow.
It would be great if MAME could at least support the option of using 3D GPU rendering with a command-line switch or something.
I know the obvious reply will be "just use Demul then" but I'm just trying to give a suggestion to improve MAME.
