While we’re on topic, I saw “A Quiet Place.”

I liked it. Kewl concept to have an entire movie “almost” devoid of dialogue, and still be entertaining. I would have even enjoyed it if the director went all in and REALLY made the movie even more silent, like sans filler music and the whole shibang. Alfred Hitchcock used to set himself up with arbitrary challenges like that just to prove to himself that he could pull it off. For example, he once made an entire feature length movie all in one giant long single-camera take just to prove he could do it.

“And action” .... *two hours later* ... “Cut! That’s a wrap.”

A Quiet Place- Hardest movie EVER to eat candy out of a plastic crinkly bag, though.

🧐

A couple things that bugged me. The dead old lady... why was her carcass left behind? Nevermind, how else could the old man find it to be upset.

But also, these blind predators were attracted to inoccuous noises with ultra-sensative hearing, but couldn’t hone in on prey-specific sounds like breathing? And clearly used sonar (the clicking, and ability to run at blazing speed and not bang into trees) but couldn’t detect the echo signature of prey?

Just sayin’.

Didn’t kill the movie though, I still liked it. That poor baby though.

Oh, and I wasn’t convinced the Dad HAD to yell. But the girls behind me all cried. I mean like “had to console each other just lost a personal loved one” kind of cried. I just can’t get into that level of empathy for a movie, not even for old yeller.

Why was the underground bunker filling with water? Did I miss something?
