The only thing the CPS Changer has in common with the SNES is that it's a 16-bit console that can also use SNES controllers (through a custom SNES-to-JAMMA converter built into the system). The games themselves are miles apart, which was the whole point of the CPS Changer (well, that and to compete with the Neo-Geo AES).

The SNES version of SF2/SF2T looks and sounds like shit compared to the CPS1/CPS Changer version, with small sprites, a terrible soundfont that is also partly out of tune (which Megaman X1 also copped), and poor quality samples/voices (most notably Blanka's roar in SF2 and SF2T; SSF2 on the SNES was slightly better with the audio, but then again so was QSound compared to CPS1 FM). The Super Nintendo can do much better than that.

The only thing the SNES ports have over the arcade is that it shows the character info (bio, birth date etc.) in the demo and it has alternate win quotes e.g. "GET UP YOU WIMP!" and offers a variable speed turbo option in SF2 Turbo (which also includes a non-turbo option, although the game is still Turbo/Hyper Fighting rather than Champion Edition e.g. the extra moves are still there and you can't AI-break Dhalsim by repeatedly sweeping/tripping him like you can in the arcade SF2CE).

The main problem with both the CPS Changer and the AES is that they could only play games designed around that hardware and both had practically no third party support e.g. the CPS Changer never had any pre-CPS1 titles and only had one single conversion of a CPS2 game before it vanished into oblivion, and the only non-SNK games on the AES were MVS titles, and also did not include conversions of pre-Neo-Geo titles. Unfortunately by the mid/late 90s, the PlayStation had taken over the arcade-at-home scene, with an enhanced port of Tekken 1 being a launch title and quite a few 8-bit and 16-bit arcade games ported to the console.
