That might be the only time you've personally witnessed such a thing, but I'm sure you've heard of the Pirates' own Harvey Haddix taking a perfect game against the Milwaukee Brewers into the 13th inning on May 26, 1959, only for the Pirates to lose when they gave up an error, a walk, and a home run that was ruled a double because of bad baserunning. And that was allegedly *despite* the Brewers having stolen the Pirates' signs and *knowing* what Haddix was going to pitch.
