I don't usually carry a frickin' router around with me. I have a USB Wifi dongle that works great in promiscuous mode with live Linux tools and such, and on Windows 7, it was nothing to install it and use it to create an AdHoc network.
Now, I'm trying to do the same thing on my laptop so I can FTP to/from my N3DS so I don't have to open it up to get to the memory card, and Windows 10 makes it impossible! You have to 1) use the command line (netsh), and 2) have an internet connection to share. Even then, I doubt I can use filezilla between the two because of the funky addresses it tries to assign.
This shit really should be a lot more simple than it is. Wish we could tag people with notifications so maybe @Aaron Giles could talk to someone about this crap. I shouldn't have to pay for 3rd party software access point stuff and I'm not sure there are any compatible with Windows 10 anyway... Google, here I come...
