Programming an MCU and trying it on hardware doesn't guarantee the dump is good, just that it isn't bad enough to break gameplay. As we've seen numerous times, these MCUs often have unused features or even unreachable code. The potential bad bit in the Bad Dudes MCU dump is in the implementation of a command the game doesn't use at all.
