Yeah, that was a long time ago. Allan has said for years he's afraid to play it because it could break.
It was a controller with a wind input. And likely spec'd way beyond its use.
Allan did some cool things with it, but as such things continue to, it was dependent on the tones it was triggering, and the velocities/etc one set.....

I still say the synthaxe could be marketed again and with todays technology actually be much better than it was when released in mid 1980s.
