You need to shut cheats off for that game. The clone works perfectly because you have no XML cheat for it. The xml cheat file needs to be updated to take in account work done on the driver/game during the 0.174 development cycle. Keep an eye out for a new cheat file at the Pugsy's Cheat forum:

Just be aware that many games in the neogeo driver will not load and actually crash if you have the cheat option on. Simply shut it off to play as normal. If you need to cheat with neogeo, use 0.173 for now until this is resolved.
EDIT: The problem is sourced in any ROM-BASED cheats. In such instances, you can search/replace "maincpu.m" with "cslot1:maincpu.m" in any malfunctioning setname.xml cheats to allow them to function again.
