Just select all the files you want in your library, right click->Convert, and setup how you want the files encoded. And how is your foobar installation getting messed up? Just tell it to save its settings to an ini file instead of the windows registry, and its easily restorable. I've used the same installation for ~4 years across a few OS reinstalls that way.
