I once (2008, guess why) did a large selection of kaiju movies and started to watch them back to back, and not only Godzilla and sequels; Gamera, Rodan, Mothra, two about a giant samurai statue coming to life to avenge something, and the whole bologna. Maybe I watched about thirty (sure that at least 20). But most of them are below B to me, and eventually I grew tired of it all and stopped with still a bunch more left.
I guess many people will find charm and nice stuff in them, as I do in pre-2001 scifi B-movies (and not so B). But for me the best Godzilla by much is the very last one. Kaiju movies I consider rewatching: Godzilla (2014) Cloverfield (2008) Pacific Rim (2013, and yes, even with its glorified overbudgeted cheesiness)
And when I'm in masochist mode, Godzilla (1998) because I like the design of the monster. I'm still waiting for a japanese kaiju movie I'd rewatch. (Note: there's plenty of western kaiju movies much more bad than the japanese ones, like the megalodon ones. I do like japanese cinema, but the kaiju and mecha sides are not really of my liking.)
*edit* Although many people don't consider it as a kaiju movie, I'll add to the list King Kong (1933).
Wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right, little honey / Oh, since I set my eyes on you. / I tell you the truth. I can't get it right / Get it right / Since I met you...
