By the way, the point that I didn't elaborate on is that DK in Older MAME is very different. Not necessarily harder, though it was for me that night, at least at first, because it'd been a while since I'd played it. Both are fun. The firefox behavior in the later rivets screens is often more interesting in older MAME. I've had a lot more holy shit-filled momeents and survivals from them.
Also something else curious, is the size of the monitor. Some of my highest DK scores are on that machine, but having been away from it so long, the size meant parts of the screen were a bit outside my accustomed vision. Obviously I got it together, but it's an interesting case of 'bigger ain't necessarily better'.
> May I ask. How much are those machine cases and screen without the games and computer? Are those cheap?
Far as I know, candys are getting rarer and rare. I have no idea their going price, and some are more (rarer) than others, for example an Egret II.
I happened to get mine at an arcade auction for $72, including gas and lunch that day.
Mine was a very special case, obviously. One I precognated the night before. I knew nothing of the auction stock. I just at one moment that night said out loud, "I'm going to find what I want ((which was a Capcom Impress - they ended up having two....)) and I'm going to get it cheap!" And that's what happeend. More to the story of how it came about the next day and all....
Scifi frauds. SF illuminates.
