I just picked up a new laptop that has a 500gb HDD. What's the best way to go about upgrading it to a 500gb SSD?
I have one of those USB cables that come with Samsung SSDs (the new SSD is a Samsung) and I think there is some kind of Samsung software that does the cloning in windows but I've never used it.
I've also seen people suggest other cloning software that boots off a CD/thumb drive and makes an image that you have to restore to the new drive.
I know that most laptops come with hidden recovery partitions and I'm wondering if that stuff will get cloned properly.
