there also is a complete version.ini in this package

This is debatable, as I pointed out in another reply: the game was present also in older builds of the emulator.
The same holds true for games like tgm2 / tgm2p which were added, and then removed, and then readded, and for the recent cave shooters.
We are going to have soon an improved catlist release with the fixes from izius and Janez, and I'll mark pong as added in 0.146u1, but I'm not sure it is so satisfactory as a solution...
