In some, the games are changed via DIP switch settings (example, Atari's Firetruck and Smokey Joe). In others the only difference is in artwork, cabinetry, etc (example Exidy's Circus and Taito's Acrobat TV). But as far as MAME is concerned, anything with the same ROM is only one game.
