The question was pretty explicit and didn't mention Raiden 2. Assuming that a different question was being asked and answering it without mentioning your assumption and using a reddit user name that violates the MAME trademark, you were being misleading. Whether you did this on purpose or through ignorance is not important. The test for a trademark violation is

That user isn't posting anything that could be mistaken as a relationship with Sega, therefore it's ok.

tldr; You need permission to use the MAME registered trademark in any way when engaging in any activity that is related to emulation. This includes releasing your own builds of MAME.
