Very cool... however...
1. If you follow these instructions...
> Instructions: extract this archive into the artwork folder in your MAME directory.
... and you are using original artwork, you're going to overwrite some of the original files.
2. Could you go through and delete the notes at the end of all the LAY files that don't apply. For example, on Ghouls 'n' Ghosts:
