Kubrick has 16 directorial credits on IMDB. I haven't seen any of the first eight. What I've seen of the second eight are mostly pseudo-intellectual... well, not quite "crap." Where they were good, they were good despite his efforts to raise them to the level of "art." The one good thing Kubrick did with 2001 was NOT end it with exploding space-bombs, but that would hardly have fit such a slow film.
