Actually, I feel completely at ease in Japan, anywhere, and at any time. The worst thing here is Japanese Supremests (they drive around in black vans playing WWII propaganda) and all they do is talk a lot of shit. The bosozoku might be something to fear if you give them shit, but they just want to be cool and get attention. Smile and give them a thumbs up and they leave you alone.
If a Yakuza knows English... they love to chat! Just don't go to a business either run by them or under their protection, without knowing the system and end up not having enough money to pay. That WILL cause problems anywhere.
Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
