Well piece of shit is relative. While you definitely wouldn't want to game on it, I could see it performing adequately for productivity applications. I mean, early two-page DTP displays ran 1280x1024 over SCSI2 so you could use them with a Mac Plus - USB3 has more bandwidth than that, and operating systems have come a long way. That said, I've never used one, and would be very interested to hear experiences from someone who actually has.
