I think there were a ton of great clones added in MAME .153.
Many previously unknown country sets were added like "Gals Panic 3" HK and "Viper Phase 1" Korea.
It took me a while to realize the importance of "Puyo Puyo Fever" beta; it's a ROM version of a game only released on disc! Any other GD-ROM game could have betas the same way!
A Promat "Disco Boy" set with different gameplay was added, as well as a "Witch" high-score version.
Another unexpected set was "Block Carnival" with "Mercs" sound, a funny sequel to "Thunder and Lightning" with "Tetris" sound!
Some sets I expected to exist were added: "Mr. Driller" USA, "Shanghai 3" world, and "Shanghai" world.
Other sets added I would have never thought could exist because they are so Japanese: "Dancing Eyes" USA, and "Keroppi's Playground" USA.
"Street Fighter 3" Asia disc version was also highly unexpected.
Known rare sets like "Air Assault" and "Yukiwo" were added!
Three mysteries I had were solved! I had wondered why the Midas game "Super Toffy" was only distributed by Unico, a third party, until the Midas set was added.
I also wondered why "Zero Wing" 2-player was only distributed by Williams, until the Toaplan set was added.
Not a clone, but the IGT "Haywire" game was another mystery solved; I only knew of a mechanical version, and wondered if a video version existed.
A non-clone set that I find amazing that it was added is "Guns and Roses"! At first I thought it had to be another set of the pinball machine, because all Australian copies of Aristocrat Mark 4 games were supposed to have been destroyed!
