You have something set up where you are using -autosave? This would only come up if there was an attempt to use a save state fails from a prevous version. It's possible you were working off an older autosave which, after the changes in devices for 0.153 (particularly here the namco customs) could be causing issues with your starting the game. There also might be uninitialized variables at play which can make start up very random. Best test is to put mame in a new folder, put galaga.zip in roms and fire it up default settings (no other .ini/.cfg).
