Ok... I'm in Virginia visiting my son (not the one who snuck out, the one who's training to be a fireman) because he's in the hospital (he's fine... but a parent visits his kid when he's in a hospital).
Here's my deal... I arrive at the airport, and use yelp to find a nearby decent hotel... check in late at night... get up early, and spend the day with my kid.
Everybody keeps calling to talk to my kid and tell him get well etc... and I'm watching my phone battery dwindle and dwindle...
"Um, try to keep it short, I need that phone to get back to my hotel."
Nope. Phone died.
Damn... good thing I have my room key... so I buy an old fashioned paper map (which I know about from my old survival skill training in the boy scouts) and mark the approximate address as indicated on my hotel room key... and drive there.
WTF?!? There's no hotel here... yes... the address on the room key is for this restaurant. Ah, hehe. I see now... the hotel, to not miss out on any opportunity for extra cash... sells advertising on the room key... ok ok, I'll ask where the hotel is.
"Sir, this is a restaurant."
Yeah, Iknow, but see you advertise on my hotel key, you don't know where this hotel is.
"No sir, see, this is a restaurant."
Yeah, ok... do you have a phone book?
Hotels... hotels... why do none of these hotels sound familiar... it was a Holiday Inn I'm 99% sure... yet... hmmm... none of these...
Hello, 1800-holiday inn yeah, hi could you tell me what hotel I'm staying in... yeah, see I was visiting my son...
"Sir, we can't give out guest information like that."
Yeah I know, but I AM the guest in question, it's just my room key has no hotel info on it, it's an add for t restaurant, and so I don't know where my hotel was because my phone died and... hello? hello?
Maybe if I drive to the nearest Holiday Inn, the desk can help me...

Ten minutes later I have power and you know what? Google maps does not keep history information... the only thing in it to direct me is the hospital... the last past I navigated to.
Yelp, you bastard... I don't want ice cream anymore... and you don't keep history information either.

The Hampton Inn is right next door... and you know what? THEY were kind enough to call around to Holiday Inns and found my hotel. Yeah. How kewl are they? On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being a Hiliday Inn and a 10 being a Hamton Inn, they are a 10.
When I finally got back to my hotel, I politely point out to the front desk... Why is there no identifying hotel information on this key?
"Oh, that's a restaurant."
I know THAT! Never mind. Good night.
